About Shakira Bapoo
Relationship, trauma and alternative lifestyle coaching grounded in confidentiality, emotional safety, and practical change.
A direct, confidential and human approach
Shakira Bapoo is a Relationship, Trauma and Alternative Lifestyle Coach based in Boksburg, South Africa. She works with people who are trying to understand why certain patterns keep repeating in their relationships, their choices, their emotional reactions, and their sense of self.
Her work is especially suited to clients who have already reached a point of insight, but who still find themselves returning to the same emotional position. They may know what is wrong. They may even know where it began. But knowing has not yet become change.
Her coaching focus
Shakira assists clients to identify their specific individual challenges and to develop usable skills and tools to work through them. Her trauma work focuses on recognising trauma patterns, understanding how those patterns shape behaviour, and building practical ways to interrupt or adapt those responses.
She also works with clients exploring authentic identity, intimacy, boundaries, alternative lifestyles, and relationship structures that require honesty, consent, emotional maturity, and discretion.
What Shakira does not do
Shakira is not a mental health care professional and does not offer therapy. She does not diagnose, treat mental illness, or replace medical or psychological care. Where a client requires therapy, psychiatric care, emergency intervention, or specialised mental health support, they should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
Books and public work
Shakira is the author of Reclaiming You, The Pattern That Stayed, and The Big Swing. Her writing reflects the same themes that shape her practice: emotional honesty, trauma patterns, personal agency, consent, self-worth, and the courage to live with greater truth.
This practice is open to all persons irrespective of race, gender expression, relationship structure, or sexual orientation.
